Min. Rusty Watson, Minister of Music

“And you, building up your most holy faith, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Col. 3:16). This ministry (music & fine arts) comprises the largest population in our church and is made up of the Love Center Choir, the Worship Warriors, S.P.I.R.I.T., the Children’s Choir, the Teens, and the Young Adult Choir, along with the Love Center Dance Ministry, Orators, Actors, Writers and Musicians. The sole purpose of this ministry is to minister in music and arts to praise and worship God and to edify the body and reach the lost by carrying forth the word of God in song and arts.

This ministry is blessed to have shared with the world the acclaimed "Love Alive" series, beginning with Love Alive I in 1975, Love Alive II in 1978, Love Alive III in 1985, Love Alive IV in 1990, and Love Alive V in 1997. We anticipate recording Love Alive VI in June of 2013.

Worship warriors

The Worship Warriors, founded by Min. MaryCatherine Cross, serves as our praise & worship team and seeks to inspire congregational participation in singing and worship and to assist the congregation in realizing and experiencing the presence of God. 

S.P.I.R.I.T.

 S.P.I.R.I.T. (Souls Progressing in Righteousness, Integrity, and Truth), directed by Sean Alexander and Leonard Bailey, is a group a young adults who love singing for the Lord.

The Love Center Choir

The world-renowned Love Center Choir, directed by Min. Rusty Watson, was the first auxiliary developed at Love Center nearly 40 years ago.  The Love Center Choir has had considerable success with their "Love Alive" series of recordings, which sold well over a million copies from the 1970s through the 1990s.  Several albums in the Love Alive series were No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel Album charts for over 33 weeks. In all, Walter Hawkins produced and/or collaborated on 116 hit songs which were listed on the Billboard Gospel Music charts.           

The Love Center Choir embodied the contemporary gospel movement and one can bet that every Sunday morning choirs around the country are singing songs recorded by the Love Center Choir. This humbling sentiment serves as a wonderful testament to the reach and longevity of this music ministry.   

Love Center Band

Patrick Sturgis serves as Music Director of the Love Center musician staff,  which is comprised of Toure Duncan (drums), Chauncey Evans (drums & percussion), Terry Ricks (keyboards), Antoin Timmons (keyboards), and Nona Brown (keyboards).

Teens

The Teens, directed by Jocelyn Hughes, is our teenaged choir.
